Scarborough Weekend

Scarborough 2012

27th April 2012.

12 Brethren braved the wet and windiest April for years to enjoy a splendid weekend in Scarborough. The weather didn’t stop us strolling along the prom and occasionally popping into a pub – just to avoid the showers.

The Park Manor Hotel at the north shore looked after us very well and the food was excellent. We used their private function room for our evening meals. Its swimming pool tempted one or two Brethren for an afternoon dip.

Our flutter on the horses and the Lottery came to nothing as usual, so no chance of buying the Villa somewhere warm and sunny.

Some intrepid souls went on a walk organised by W. Bro Chris Binns. “Just a few miles along gently undulating countryside” said Chris. One or two of the comments made by Brethren on their return told a different story!! But they enjoyed it anyway.

Saturday is traditionally a formal Masonic evening in the dining room. Our Master W. Bro Bob Allitt provided the wine for the table and the senior Past Master W. Bro Roy Edmondson thanked the him for organising the weekend and the wine.  After dinner we changed into more casual clothes and some braved the rain and went to a local pub which had a live band and real Ale.

We have already booked the hotel and the good weather for 2013
